This months blog isn’t about make up, as we are going into winter and I’m sure either us or someone in our family is battling with at least one or both of my topics.

Adult Breakout’s

I seem to be getting these more lately. Its not pleasant when you have outgrown those awkward teenage years, only to wake up to a little friend on your face, that looks like it has a heart and lungs of his own. It’s mortifying.

I have taken an antibiotic for this before which has cleared it up fast but then returns again in a couple of weeks.

I’m pretty good at sticking to a daily skin routine, which includes an Environ pre cleanser, face wash, toner and moisturiser. Then once a week I do a face mask and exfoliate. I also do facials every two to three months.

I went to Enhance beauty salon and spoke to the owner about my skin problems and she suggested their clay mask, its part of their own range and it was amazing!! It absorbed all my excess oil and my little visitors were gone in two days. I did review this product on my instagram and Facebook pages too.

I’m all about supporting local businesses and woman in business, so please have a look at their facebook page or contact them to find out more about their other products that they have in range.

I also bought a face wash and moisturiser for my husband and he is really enjoying them too. It’s really important that we encourage the men in our lives to look after their skin, we don’t need them looking like a prune one day.

Dry Skin

This time of the year is horrible for those of us that suffer with dry skin or eczema. I personally really battle with it and have over the years tried so many products.

What I have found that works best for me is Eucerin AtoControl Bath and Shower Oil. This product definitely helps keep your skin feel soft and takes away the itch of dry skin. A bottle lasts ages too. Once you have rinsed the soap off your body, you rub this oil into your skin and then you rinse it off. It has really stopped my eczema before it has flared up. It is great to use on kids too.

Another product I love to use for dry skin around my nose and on my lips is Just Natural Healing Balm. It’s a natural anti-bacterial and anti-fungal remedy. It’s made from pure beeswax, honey and propolis plus five different essential healing oils: Tea Tree oil, Lavender oil, Eucalyptus oil, Sweet Almond oil and Jojoba oil

It smoothes and relives skin conditions such as eczema, allergic reactions, insect bites and stings, rashes, chapped lips, cuticles, heels and elbows. It’ s also great for minor burns and wounds, nappy rash, cold sores.

I have started using this balm on my client’s lips when I start their make up application and by the time I get to applying lip stick, their lips are soft and moisturised. I use it every night before bed and apply it to my kids lips too. Its really affordable too at R69,95 for a 50g tub, this lasts ages too.

You can purchase it from most chemist or online at
