So I decided we needed a #Martinfamdamily Get-Away and logged onto

Firstly WOW on the site easy to use and so many options and specials!

I wanted a self-catering , Bush holiday that wasn’t too far and that was Affordable.

Everyone wants a Great Vacay, but let’s be honest, to travel is costly and bigger families definitely feel the pinch!

Also having 5 always makes it abit tricky! BUT us #MartinFamdamily love to experience new places together!
So Our Holidays are aimed at Families where children are allowed.

At such short notice most venues were already sold-out for the dates we wanted , and then I found the Gooderson Bushlands Lodge in Hluhluwe.

It is a 3 Star and some peeps hadn’t written the greatest reviews but I was willing to take the chance!

5 sleeper , self-catering with aircon near the Pool!! Done

We arrived to super HOT HOT Weather and were met at Reception.

The staff were  awesome and a pleasure to deal with. Keys were handed over and we made our way to our Chalet at Nyala Camp!

Our Chalet had a balcony , aircon , was clean , bed linen fresh.
The only thing I would suggest would be to rinse the crockery and take your own Water.

The Water is not for drinking and bath water was brown but Showers were fine!

Next stop  -The POOL … and let me tell you it was Perfect, so that is where we spent Wednesday like a bunch of lazy hippos wallowing away!!

While we wallowed in the Pool , Nyala and Impala came strolling metres away to drink … just breath-taking. You just felt so relaxed .

At night we braaied or visited the hide with a bottle of wine /colddrinks and watched the animals grazing and ticked off birds on our list!!
Giraffes also visited the Chalet and were quite at ease!

We found that a lot of the animals slept outside the chalet in the evenings…

There are other Accommodation Options at Bushlands and a restaurant if you do not want self-catering.
It is definitely a Hotel /Lodge that we would visit again . We loved everything about it!

It is 15 minutes away from Hluhluwe Game Reserve where we spent most of Our Time.

Hluhluwe I will admit  isn’t the same as 15/20 years ago .We found the place abit grubby and run down and a lot of the little tar roads closed that we used to visit which is very sad!

If you are  wanting Toasted Sarmies – Visit the iMfolozi side – Centenary Centre they charge R45 while lodge is R75!!

Also keep and eye out for the pesky Monkeys- they are super forward and can be quite aggressive!!

In Hluhluwe we didn’t see any Big Cats but the Rhinos were majestic and we got lucky with a Rock Python sunning itself on the road!!

We love the Bush as much as the Beach and in South Africa are super blessed with Both!

Our 3 Boys #MartinFamdamily supporting #MyAfricaMyRhino and these awesome shirts can be purchased from MELLYK

Remember their are all types of Accommodation and visit for SPECIALS , it really is worth it!!

So a BIG Thumbs Up for the #MartinFamdamilyTravels to Hluhluwe and using

Thank you for a wonderful Holiday and you can also find Gooderson Hotels on Facebook

Till Next Time …..
